The NHDES Wetlands Rules outline how to apply for authorizations, registrations, notifications, or permits available to the public to legally impact wetlands and other jurisdictional areas protected under RSA 482-A. The forms specific to these processes can be found by following these links:
Emergency Authorization Request: NHDES strongly encourages those seeking Emergency Authorizations to call the Wetlands Bureau at (603) 271-2147 before filling out the form. Wetlands Bureau staff will assess eligibility and provide guidance through the process.
Routine Roadway Maintenance Registration (RRMR) Forms: Nine minimum impact routine roadway maintenance activities may be undertaken under RRMRs.
Non-Tidal Docking Structure Registration Form: Voluntary registration allows owners to repair or replace legally existing docking structures in non-tidal waters without having to file for a wetlands permit if a set of minimum requirements are met.
Statutory Permit-by-Notification (SPN) Forms: Five types of minimum impact projects may proceed after filing a complete and correct SPN.
Permit-by-Notification (PBN) Application Form: Twenty-two minimum impact projects may qualify for a PBN. Applicants must use the PBN application form when filing the required notification for any of these projects. For additional guidance, please refer to the optional PBN Project-Specific Checklist(s) applicable to your project.
Small Motor Mineral Dredge (SMMD) Permit Application Form: Minimum impact mineral dredging activities may be permitted with an SMMD permit.
Expedited (EXP) Minimum Impact Wetlands Permit Application Form: Minimum impact projects may be permitted through an EXP. For additional guidance with EXP applications, please consult the EXP Project Classification Guidance Document, developed to provide a summary of projects that meet minimum impact project criteria.
Standard Dredge and Fill Wetlands Permit (Standard) Application Form: For additional guidance with standard applications, please consult the optional Standard Application Project-Specific Worksheet(s). The Wetlands Rules: Index of Project-Specific Information for Standard Applications Guidance Document will guide you to the correct worksheet(s).
If your project does not qualify for an Emergency Authorization, RRMR, registration, PBN, or EXP, it may qualify for a standard permit. If you have any questions, please contact the Wetlands Bureau at (603) 271-2147.
